The historic factory owner's villa with a marble-lined fountain in the lobby served as an eye hospital for children with severe eye defects. It used to be a point of pride, but in 1999 the entire site was sold with a plan for medical use that fell through for failure to find an investor. You can judge for yourself how our people took care of the building, now infested with wood-destroying fungi and with a compromised structure. Today, the villa, surrounded by a forest park with rare trees and a stone wall with romantic watchtowers, can only be demolished....
